Singer-songwriters like Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton have got some stiff competition in the Pantene Pro-Voice 2004 winner, Marié Digby. This L.A. native showed off her vocal talents and piano and songwriting skills on August 5 during the Pantene Pro-Voice concert in New York City, where she shared the stage with other singers, including Ashanti, Fefe Dobson, Paulina Rubio, and Skye Sweetnam. The concert ended the annual contest in which female songwriters and band leaders from all over the country compete for a chance to kick-start their music career with a $5,000 recording deal from EMI Music Marketing, among other prizes. Last year’s winner, Hadas Shalev, has been performing at college campuses across the country, and we suspect that after Marié’s electrifying performance in New York, she’ll be one to watch this year.
